The Washington Center Internship Program

In July 2016, I participated in the Washington Center's two-week program for the DNC. The first week involved lectures on the political process and the importance of the convention. The second week, I was placed to work as a runner for CNN, assisting with guest arrivals, acting as a stand-in, and doing any other general tasks that were needed to make sure broadcasts ran smoothly. Through this internship, I had the great honour of meeting some of our emerging political minds, as well as attending Hillary's nomination on the final night of the convention.

What I'll Bring to the 2024 Convention

From interning at the 2016 Philadelphia Democratic National Convention, I learned first hand about the inner workings of the event. From the early morning preparations to late night speeches, there is a significant amount of work that goes into a convention. All of these things come together to create a very important international stage. I understand how the issues discussed at the convention are amplified across the national and the world. This would be a great opportunity to further the issues of Americans living abroad, such as those set out in my Passions and Platform. I also understand the importance of working together with other delegates, within the Democrats Abroad delegation or with other states, to garner support and consensus on key issues.
