2016 North Carolina Coordinated Campaign
Following my experience at the Convention I wanted to get more involved with the Democratic Party. I chose to volunteer with the North Carolina Democratic Party, canvassing, door knocking and registering voters across Charlotte, NC. I also participated in local rallies led by the Obamas, and nearly met Joe Biden but got the address wrong, missed his visit and got stuck in his departing motorcade!

What I'll Bring to the 2024 Convention
Volunteering with the North Carolina Democrats gave me on the ground experience of political campaigns and local community organising. I saw how much individual efforts can influence voting decisions and elections overall. Even though Hillary didn't flip North Carolina blue, we did help get a Democrat governor elected and shape state-wide politics for 8 years. I also experienced the intense level of organisation that is required for campaigning. This understanding of planning and coordination will be helpful at the convention for ensuring that my time is used wisely across the various caucuses and events. I also appreciate the importance of voter registration and mobilisation in winning an election. Americans living abroad are a really important voting bloc and their voting rights need to be championed so that as many Americans abroad vote in the 2024 election.
