Olivia Arnold

I am originally from the Carolinas, having spent a significant proportion of my life in both North and South Carolina. I grew up in Greenville, SC and went to university in Charlotte, NC. I vote in South Carolina, which may not have a strong Democrat voter base but is still an important place in which to vote.

I have lived in the UK since 2019, moving to Bristol for my Master's degree at the University of Bristol. I spent 3 years there, riding out all lockdowns but still finding joy in exploring all of the quirky pubs, cafes and shops the city has to offer. I moved to Birmingham, UK in early 2023 since I got a job at the region's transport authority. It has been my honour to serve as the regional organiser for the West Midlands Regional Chapter of DA-UK. Aside from getting involved with Democrats Abroad, I am a part of the poetry community in Birmingham with my partner and still explore the various pubs and cafes in search of the best pint and Iced Americano.

I love living abroad because of the personal connections I've made and the opportunities it has provided me. I still want to remain connected to the United States and its politics. I will always be an American citizen so it will always be my responsibility to fight for and vote for the policies that I believe in, supporting my home country and its future.
